San Diego Trip!

Andrew and I went to San Diego for a few days to visit Marissa and meet our new nephew, baby Troy. Sadly, Mark was out of state training so we weren't able to see him but we had a wonderful time with his family.

It was so great spending time with Marissa and Troy!

He's the cutest

We went to the beach one afternoon and Andrew attempted to get Wiley in the water.

Wiley is such a momma's boy and would run to her for safety. It was cute!

Troy liked watching the Hunger Games with us

He's the cutest nephew ever.

We went to a great BBQ restaurant that was dog-friendly. They were actually have a costume contest while we were there, Wiley went as himself.

After dinner Andrew and I gave Wiley a bath. Poor Wiley!

My dad got this hat for Troy and even though it's still a bit big we took a picture for him

Andrew Graduates!

What a busy weekend!!!!

Karen flew in on Thursday and the three of us went on a tour of Alcatraz. We learned a lot about the former prison and had a great time touring it.
Later that night my parents arrived for Andrew's graduation commencement which was the following day.

Andrew's graduation ceremony was the shortest one that I've ever heard of. It wasn't even a full hour long and only in the last ten minutes did all the graduates walk across the stage to receive their diplomas.
Seriously, I couldn't even get a decent picture everything was happening so fast.

Saturday morning we all joined Jon and Vivian at Planet Granite for rock climbing.

We had a great time climbing and my dad impressed us all by making a challenging 5.9 route look easy!

Afterwards we went to lunch where the moms had ice cream cones!

It was a great weekend filled with fun, family, and lots of food!

Congratulations, Andrew! All of your hard work has paid off!

Congratulations Andrew!!!

Last night Andrew and his classmates presented their Master's Projects. It was the last step they needed to complete before they walk in graduation on Friday.

Andrew wrote a 70 page paper titled "Recovery of Oregon Coast Coho Salmon (Oncorhynchus kitsutch) Through Restoration of Freshwater Habitats" which he presented last night to his peers and community members.

Andrew also received the Academic Excellence Award in Environmental Management for being the top student in his masters program.  Who's not going to give an award to the guy who got straight As and had all of his professors love him? Go Andrew!

After two years of long hours and too many papers, Andrew is finally done! Congratulations, Andrew, I am one very proud wife!

Muir Woods with the Wongs!

Today we took a day trip to Muir Woods with John and Vivian to walk the trails.

We had a great time and even though it was a little hazy we had some great views!

We stopped in Sausalito on our way back for ice cream and of course, palm tree climbing.

Maybe they're a little too addicted to rock climbing :)

We then went to a cajun restaurant for a delicious dinner of catfish, shrimp, clams, and crawdads.

What a great day! It was terrific to get out into nature and breathe fresh air.

Maggie Visits!

This week my best friend since the age of four came to visit us before we leave San Francisco.
Maggie spent most of the days entertaining herself while Andrew and I were at work but on Wednesday I was able to act as tour guide :)

We went to China Town

Maggie bought a Chinese Donut- a sesame seed covered bread that was filled with black beans.

Then we went to Pier 39

and saw the sea lions

We walked over to Fisherman's Wharf and got sourdough bread at Boudin.

Maggie was happy to have so much sunshine (Wyoming isn't very warm this time of year...)

Then we walked through Ghirardelli Square and drooled over all the chocolate :)

Since we had walked all over the city we decided to head back to the apartment and reward ourselves with pomegranate cuban mojitos. They were Maggie approved.

We headed to Burma Superstar for dinner and tried out a few different burmese dishes.

And finally we stopped at a local bakery for dessert. Maggie's tiramisu looked delicious!

It was such a great week having Maggie visit! Hopefully she will visit us again soon (in Portland!)!
