Maggie Visits!

This week my best friend since the age of four came to visit us before we leave San Francisco.
Maggie spent most of the days entertaining herself while Andrew and I were at work but on Wednesday I was able to act as tour guide :)

We went to China Town

Maggie bought a Chinese Donut- a sesame seed covered bread that was filled with black beans.

Then we went to Pier 39

and saw the sea lions

We walked over to Fisherman's Wharf and got sourdough bread at Boudin.

Maggie was happy to have so much sunshine (Wyoming isn't very warm this time of year...)

Then we walked through Ghirardelli Square and drooled over all the chocolate :)

Since we had walked all over the city we decided to head back to the apartment and reward ourselves with pomegranate cuban mojitos. They were Maggie approved.

We headed to Burma Superstar for dinner and tried out a few different burmese dishes.

And finally we stopped at a local bakery for dessert. Maggie's tiramisu looked delicious!

It was such a great week having Maggie visit! Hopefully she will visit us again soon (in Portland!)!

Pyramid Lake and Tahoe

Last Wednesday Andrew met some of the crew from Baranof at Pyramid Lake to fish for trout. He saw beautiful sunsets and really enjoyed his trip.

On Friday he met me, and eight other couples from our small group at church, in Tahoe. We had a wonderful weekend hanging out in the beautiful outdoors.

On Saturday, Patrick, Helen, Andrew and I hit the slopes. It was my first time skiing and I had so much fun after I got the hang of it.

Helen and I on the slopes

Andrew wanted to get on video part of my third run down the mountain
(this is right after the bunny hill)

Laura, this picture is for you. The cabin had a huge plasma cut sign (I made Andrew stand next to it for reference) . The colors are from oxidation.

Roommate's Weekend

Last weekend Andrew and I both had our college roommates visit us for the weekend! We loved seeing Jana and Max again.

We made a late night run to Safeway for ice cream on Friday night

On Saturday Andrew had class so I showed Jana around the city. We met Max at Pier 39 after his race on Angel Island. We saw Elmo and took pictures with him.

Then we took the Cable Car from the Wharf to downtown.

Max "twerked" on the Cable Car and got some yells from random passerby's.

We went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner and Max taught us (mostly Jana) phrases in Chinese. The waitresses loved it.

On Sunday morning we went to a cafe down the block for breakfast.

Andrew and Max started "Buildering" (bouldering is a type of rock climbing) here in the city.

It was so great to have friends visit us!!!
